We visited the capital city this weekend to checkout the cherry blossom festival. We were fortunate to visit around the peek bloom time. The city was full of color. The Tidal basin area was packed with crowd from all over the country. The Cherry blossom festival represents the friendship between United States and Japan, and in-fact the trees were gifted to the US by Japanese Mayor in 1912.

Besides Japan, the next best thing to experiencing the cherry blossom festival would be checking out Washington DC. If you’re visiting the tidal basin area, the national mall and the Smithsonian museums are close by too!
